Under the new GST era, the GST Council took the decision to launch the e-way bill from 1st Feb 2018. This e-way bill decision was delayed due to technical glitches in the governments IT backbone readiness. But ERP providers like Lighthouse Info Systems have already adapted their Systems to comply with E Waybill.
E-way bill (or electronic way bill) is meant for movement of goods which can be generated on the government GSTN portal. Movement of goods worth in excess of Rs 50,000 can be done by only with a company with registered GSTN by generating the E-waybill code.
